Sunday Morning Eco Sail on the San Francisco Bay
Cruise beneath the Golden Gate Bridge and into the open waters of the Pacific Ocean on a 2.5-hour Sunday morning eco sailing tour from Sausalito. Take in fantastic views of San Francisco and Alcatraz while gliding through the bay, and look for native marine life like whales and dolphins with the help of an onboard naturalist.
What You Can Expect
On Sunday morning, make your way to the marina in downtown Sausalito, just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. Public parking can be found in the nearby Sausalito municipal lots ($1-2 per hour, not included). Meet your captain and crew, and climb aboard the Freda B sailboat. Begin by cruising out into the calm waters of the San Francisco Bay for a great perspective on the city skyline, Alcatraz, and Angel Island. Glide beneath the famous orange arcs of the Golden Gate Bridge and around the emerald cliffs of the Marin Headlands out into the open ocean. Learn about the unique ecosystem of the San Francisco Bay and Pacific Coast from a naturalist guide, and keep an eye out for passing marine life like dolphins, sea otters, and humpback whales. Drinks like Napa Valley wines and hot apple cider are available to purchase from the cash bar (see Itinerary for bar menu). The sailboat returns to Sausalito midmorning, leaving plenty of time to grab brunch at one of many waterfront restaurants (own expense) or spend the rest of your Sunday exploring beautiful Marin County.
